Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle - Candy Clay

Being my first time working with candy clay I was expecting it to turn out terribly.
But, it was a pretty cool thing to work with. And so much easier to work with than Fondant.
They say that candy clay using milk or dark chocolate is easier to work with, but I decided on white chocolate for the sake of color.
Thinking back now, I wish I had used more food coloring.
You live and you learn!
Candy Clay Recipe
- 2 Cups White Chocolate (1 bag)
- 1/3 cup Corn Syrup
- Food coloring
Place the entire bag of chocolate into a microwave safe bowl, Microwave for 30 seconds. remove and stir. Repeat until chocolate is melted, but not liquid (avoiding burning).
Add the Corn Syrup and stir until well combined (use of electric mixer not necessary).

Place a sheet of Parchment paper onto your working area. Pour mixture onto sheet.
*For Ninja Turtles Separate candy clay into 4 different piles (2 small, 2 large)
Add desired colors to the clay piles and knead in until colored throughout.
*For Ninja Turtles add 8-12 drops of green color to one of the large piles, 8-12 drops of red color to the other large pile. Leave one of the small piles white for eyes. Add 4-5 drops blue, green and red coloring to remaining small pile.
Flatten the candy clay with the palm of your hand until 1/2 cm thick.
Transfer the parchment paper with Clay discs into refrigerator until cooled or overnight.
When ready to work with, remove from fridge and place on counter.
Candy clay is extremely easy to form and mold, My advice is to try to keep the room cool so the clay doesn't begin to melt in your hands (this will happen).
Any mistakes you make are easily fixed by kneading the clay in your hands until it forms a ball, then flattening it again.
*For Ninja Turtles cut the red clay into strips about 1 cm thick. Form green clay into 2 1/2 inch flat rounds. Form 2 small white clay balls, then 2 smaller black clay balls, & 1 small rope with black clay for mouth.
Once you have formed your candy clay return to fridge until chilled and firm.
I used these as Carrot Cupcake toppers for a TNMT Birthday party.
FYI- The white chocolate makes these actually taste REALLY good :)
